Through our studio on Watling Street in Hockliffe, just outside Leighton Buzzard. We are accredited Amtico specialists supplying and fitting across Bedfordshire and the surrounding area, including Toddington, Soulbury, Stanbridge, Ivinghoe, Dunstable, Luton, Ampthill and out towards Tring, Aylesbury and Milton Keynes. You can see the ranges laid rather than judging from a sample card.
It is one of the best, and it is the single most common reason people come to us for it. A kitchen floor takes dropped pans, dragged stools, spilt wine and constant foot traffic in the same three square metres. Amtico's factory-applied Quantum Guard surface coating is the strongest stain and scratch defence in mainstream LVT, and in daily use it handles red wine, pet claws, grit and dragged chair legs better than cheaper alternatives. It is also warmer and quieter underfoot than tile, which matters in a room you stand in for hours.
The main difference is the wear layer, which is what determines how long the floor lasts. Spacia has a 0.55mm wear layer with a 20-year warranty, Form steps up to 0.7mm with a 30-year warranty and integrated antimicrobial protection, and Signature is the flagship at 1.0mm with Quantum Guard Elite. Décor is the most design-led and most expensive. Signature's 1.0mm wear layer is effectively a lifetime product in a home. For a busy kitchen we usually steer people to Form or above.
Prices vary by range. As a market guide, Spacia averages around £42 per m², Form around £59 per m², Signature from around £72 per m², and the premium Décor range can reach £135 per m². No Amtico approved retailer publishes fixed prices, because every quote depends on the range, the size of the project, the layout complexity and whether it is supply only or supply and fit. Fitters also normally recommend ordering 10 to 20% extra for intricate patterns and borders. We quote against your actual room measurements.
It matters a great deal, and this is the part most people miss. Signature carries a lifetime residential warranty specifically when it is professionally installed. First carries 15 years, Spacia 20 and Form 30. A floor fitted badly, over a poorly prepared subfloor, is where warranty problems start. As accredited Amtico specialists we prepare and fit to specification, so the warranty you are quoted is the warranty you actually keep.
Longer than most people expect, and yes it can be refreshed. Ten to fifteen year old Amtico floors are frequently lifted with the original surface still intact and only the dressing layer worn, and a strip-and-dress refresh brings the floor back. That is a real difference from laminate, which cannot be renewed at all once the top layer goes. It changes the long-term maths, because you are not necessarily buying a floor you replace in a decade.
The design library is Amtico's real strength. Where most LVT brands offer 30 to 50 designs and a few laying patterns, the Signature range alone runs to hundreds of colourways across wood, stone and abstract effects, plus the full Designers' Choice pattern library including chevron, Versailles parquet, French Weave and Gable Parquet, with border, motif and feature strip systems on top. So wood effects from pale oak through to darker teak tones are all available, as are laid patterns rather than plain planks.
It depends on the room rather than on which is best. Amtico suits kitchens, utilities and busy family spaces where spills and traffic are constant. Engineered wood, which we supply through Xylo, gives real timber warmth and grain for living rooms and hallways. Porcelain gives a hard, cool, genuinely stone finish for bathrooms and areas where you want that. We would rather tell you which one your room actually wants than sell you the one on the highest margin.
Yes, and doing it that way avoids the most common problem: floor and cabinetry ordered separately, then not sitting at the same level or clashing in tone. When we are supplying both, the floor finish is chosen against the actual worktop and door colour, the levels are planned together, and there is one team sequencing the work rather than a kitchen fitter and a floor fitter arguing about who goes first.
Amtico is what we are accredited for and it is the bulk of what we fit, but it is not all we do. We also supply engineered wood flooring through Xylo, and premium porcelain tiles for bathrooms and living spaces. If a room is better served by wood or porcelain than by LVT, we will say so.
