Complete design, supply, and installation service in the UK

At our studio on Watling Street, Hockliffe, Leighton Buzzard. We design, supply and install Häcker germanMade kitchens, with live working displays so you can test the cabinetry and storage in person rather than choose from a brochure. If you are searching for a Häcker stockist and are anywhere in Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Hertfordshire, this is your nearest working display.
Häcker Küchen was founded in 1898 and is still family-owned, now run by the fourth generation of the founding family. It began as a small German carpentry workshop and is now one of Europe's largest kitchen manufacturers, known for precision engineering and strict quality standards. Every kitchen is manufactured in Germany and designed here in Leighton Buzzard around your room.
They share the same build quality but sit at different price points. Concept 130 is the more cost-conscious of the two, saving roughly 10 to 15% against Systemat, though its internal carcass colour is limited to white or titanium. Systemat gives you the wider choice of finishes and internal specification. For most people the decision comes down to whether the inside of the cabinet matters to them as much as the outside.
For an average-sized room, a German kitchen in the UK typically ranges from about £17,000 to £35,000 or more, with £25,000 to £30,000 being the common figure once appliances and professional installation are included. Choosing Concept130 over Systemat brings the cabinetry cost down noticeably. Layout complexity, worktop material and appliance specification move the number more than anything else, so we quote firmly after measuring the room.
No, and this is the most common misconception. Handleless is what German kitchens are known for, but the same cabinetry system supports classic and transitional looks too. What stays constant is the engineering underneath: consistent gaps, doors that stay aligned, and storage that works. So if you want a contemporary look you will get it, and if you want something softer and more traditional in feel, the same system will do that as well.
This is a fair worry, because German cabinetry is built to a modular metric system while a lot of Bedfordshire housing stock has uneven walls, sloping floors and chimney breasts in awkward places. The answer is that the modules are designed with a wide enough range of widths and heights to be planned around those problems, and the gaps are closed with scribed panels cut on site. The precision actually helps here: when the cabinets themselves are square, the only thing you are correcting for is the building.
Häcker offers a wider choice of cabinet sizes than most German brands, including tall units, base cabinets and glass cabinets, plus pocket doors and cabinets with electric opening mechanisms for easier access. In practice that means corner units that actually empty properly, pull-out larders sized to your shopping rather than a standard box, and drawers deep enough to stop you stacking pans inside pans.
Häcker kitchens carry a manufacturer warranty of either 5 or 10 years depending on the range. That covers the furniture itself. Installation and any appliances are covered separately, and we confirm all three in writing before you order so there is no confusion about who is responsible for what later.
Yes. Häcker furniture is certified by the DGM, the German Quality Control Association, and has been awarded its best emission class A rating. Häcker also runs an in-house test laboratory measuring longevity, functionality, safety and resistance to wear, and is a member of the VdDK, the Association of the German Kitchen Furniture Industry. If low-emission materials matter in your home, this is a documented standard rather than a marketing claim.
The difference is manufacturing method rather than quality of intent. German cabinetry is machine-built to very tight tolerances in a factory, so consistency is its strength: every door hangs the same, every runner behaves the same, and it stays that way years in. A British-made kitchen is built individually, which gives you a different kind of flexibility. Neither is better across the board. It depends on whether you value engineered consistency or individual craftsmanship, and both are on display in our studio so you can compare them side by side.
